Renovating Vs Shifting Your House
A new house always appears to have everything that you might need for a very long time to come. But with time your needs change, and it could be either because of newly acquired preferences or a change in circumstances. Regardless of the reason, you would want to change several things in your home in a matter of a few years. So the solution to such a scenario could be either by moving into a new home or to refurbish your old home.
You should start by doing some basic thinking. Every major decision becomes easier and the options clearer, if you give serious thought to what you actually need. First, list out the difficulties with your current residence. Now think about whether they can be solved with easy remodelling plans, such as fixing a new window, removing the old wiring or altering the roofline? If your difficulties are rather serious like lack of security in the neighbourhood or difficulty in access to work place or shopping malls, no amount of renovation is going to help you.
You must think about the corresponding expenses for remodelling and moving out before eventually deciding on one. Renovation may be cheaper but will involve a lot of groundwork in locating the areas for alteration, the specifics of what you need renovated, and finding and managing different service providers like carpenters, plumbers, cable guys etc. Do not forget the dirt, dust and noise that you will have to put up with during the refurbishing period.
On the other hand, a shift will involve substantial costs – not only the cost of the new home, but also the cost of shifting and the fee of the property agent. Besides, shifting will result in disruption in your way of living for a while.
After acquiring the basic understanding of the way both the alternatives will work out, you can readily take the correct decision.
